ZOEE

Knot designer and artist Zoe Siu founded her studio brand ZOEE in 2011. The name “ZOEE” is derived from the Greek word meaning “vitality,” reflecting her aspiration to promote a culture of craftsmanship and boundless creative possibilities. She graduated with a Master’s degree in Anthropology from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2025, and also completed a fashion design program at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She hopes to explore new perspectives that merge textile craftsmanship, design, and human culture.

Over the years, Zoe has developed a distinctive creative approach, integrating knotting techniques from various cultural traditions to create a wide range of handcrafted artistic works—including jewellery, handbags, spatial installations, and seating. She has also organised numerous creative workshops. Her large-scale installation artworks have been commissioned by local property developers, international brands, and cultural institutions.

In addition to her artistic practice, Siu is an active curator and educator, mentoring students through art-based programmes and curating projects that emphasise participatory engagement and social resonance. Her work continues to challenge conventional boundaries of design, offering new perspectives on the role of knotting in contemporary art and cultural discourse.
